Title : Young ST-elevation MI: profile and outcome

There is paucity of data regarding what proportion of ST elevation myocardial infarction patients are young patients, what is the burden of disease? The morbidity and mortality and how they fare after primary percutaneous intervention. Studies are needed to look into the risk factors for early coronary artery disease events and also profile of such young patients who present as the most serious form of ST elevation myocardial infarction i.e. ST elevation myocardial infarction. This presentation will focus on clinical profile and outcomes in young STEMI after percutaneous intervention. Emphasis will be given on long-term outcome, especially quality of life assessment. The presentation will be based on our study of young STEMI, which has been sent for publication.

Audience take away:

  • What is the prevalence and risk factors of young STEMI
  • How severe is the disease and anatomical location of culprit lesion
  • Long term outcome and need for repeat intervention
  • Morbidity outcome in terms of quality of life
