Title : Ayurveda and heart diseases Natural insights for the heart care
Abstract:
The incidence of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) has greatly risen in recent years because of environmental shifts, unhealthy diets, and changes in lifestyle. Consequently, the term "hridroga," which pertains to heart-related ailments in Ayurveda, has gained prominence. Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) encompass a wide range of conditions, including heart attacks, peripheral artery disease, rheumatic heart disease, congenital heart disease, heart failure, hypertension, coronary heart disease, and cerebrovascular diseases such as stroke. Ayurveda states that imbalances in the three doshas primarily lead to heart diseases, and addressing cardiovascular issues requires the challenging process of restoring their balance. Herbal remedies have played a crucial role in human health care throughout history, with numerous traditional medical systems employing them to address various ailments. Ayurveda is one of the oldest and most recognized traditional medical systems globally. This review paper explores the essential role of Ayurveda in preventing, managing, and assessing cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) through interventions related to diet (Ahara), lifestyle (Vihara), seasonal practices (Ritucharya), yoga, daily habits (Dinacharya), and rejuvenation treatments (Rasayana). The research explains how Ayurveda's holistic approach addresses the root causes of cardiovascular diseases and offers valuable insights into lifestyle modifications, herbal treatments, and preventive strategies
